We'll be meeting at SBRunning Co. 6:30am. Nike will be here and you will have a chance to wear test their shoes. No need for anyone to get there early for more miles. We are warming up from the store less than a mile up to fairview and Cath Oaks and starting our marathon pace effort from the 12mile mark on the SBIM course....see map above....and going all the way to the 20mile mark, then running back. We'll take your water/carbs and be at the 6mi (18 on course), 8mile (20mi on course). This will be a great chance to visualize starting the marathon on marathon day with no warmup. So let your body warmup over the first couple miles then get into your pace after that.
If you are not racing/training for a Fall marathon, then you will go 2miles out and 2miles back (first 2 at 80% effort ~marathon pace, last 2miles at 90% effort ~high end threshold) on Cathedral Oaks.
Good Luck to those racing the Santa Monica 5000 this weekend!
