Saturday Jan 21st workout

Race Timeline:

Ventura Marathon/Half Marathon Feb 26th (5 weeks)

San Fran Kaiser Permanente 1/2 Marathon Feb 5th (2 weeks)

LA Marathon March 19th (8 weeks)

Boston Marathon April 17th (12 weeks)

Tuesday Evening workout (5:45pm) location update:

Since Goleta Beach is closed from storm damage, we will be meeting in the Deckers Parking Lot off Los Carneros Rd and warming up to the UCSB track for the next few weeks until Goleta Beach re-opens.


See you tomorrow at Shoreline Cafe 6:30am! (FYI, we were just informed that there is construction beginning at 7am at Leadbetter so please park in the lot west of the Cafe as well as the Harbor 90min parking lot...although access is one way.)

Tuesday night track

 Hi everyone

As Goleta beach is closed, nighttime track will temporarily meet at the deckers parking lot off of Los Carneros, and will warmup by running to the ucsb track.  We will use this meeting location for the next weeks until Goleta beach reopens

Morning Workout Tuesday 1/17/23

                                                                     

Hi Guys, two separate workouts. Many have received their specific workout. For those who haven't... Workout #1 is for those racing the Half Marathon. Workout #2 is a threshold workout for those who do not have a race that they are currently training for.

Workout #1

3x400@5K Race Pace with 90sec between, 3min jog, 1600@previous 400m pace plus 4sec (example: you ran your 400's at 96sec, then your 1600 would be at 1:40/400) x 2sets with 4min jog between sets


Workout #2

THRESHOLD WORKOUT

16x200 with 100m jog continuous run...this is 4800m worth of running or 12 straight laps. The 200m segments are at a perceived effort of 80-85% which is an effort at which you can comfortably jog 100m after each repeat and continue jogging.

Evening practice 5:45pm meeting at SBCC is still on as it's supposed to stop raining tomorrow afternoon.

Happy New Year,Saturday January 7th practice and SBRR Award night Gathering

Hi, please join us for our SBRR get together Saturday January 7th, 3pm to 7pm at Patty and Bob Bryant's House, 1491 Owl Ridge rd, Santa Barbara 93105. We very much want everyone to show up as we will be honoring many of our athletes as well as giving away some fantastic NEW SBRR shirts! Don't miss it! If you have trouble finding the Bryant House, please text/call Patty 805-252-2501 (she gave us permission for this:)

It will be potluck style so here is a suggestion of what to bring:

We will provide plates, utensils, Cups etc. We will also have 2 Quarter kegs of Draughtsman Ale (Awesome Possum IPA and Czech Pilsner) and water. Please feel free to bring your favorite drinks if  water and beer do not appeal to you😊.

PLEASE CHECK THE BLOG SATURDAY JAN 7TH because if it rains we will be changing the venue from the Bryant House to another local TBA then.
